There are several types of addicts and alcoholics some of them are functional, they can go through life almost normal, and no one would ever suspect of an addiction. Intermediate these types of people may suffer from a mental or health condition to which they self-medicate looking for a way to feel normal. The worst type of alcoholic would be Chronic severe alcoholic/ addict these are the hopeless ones that have been using for several years, they cannot seem to keep a job and my suffer from health problems due to extensive use of mind-altering substances. Either way each type has always tried hiding or making excuses as to why they drink or use drugs unable to accept the damage it is causing “I had to hide, as a great many people in A.A. have had to do. The use of drugs and alcohol affects millions of people every day, it even takes away a life every 15 minutes, it is important to educate kids from an early age as well as adults about the effects of these min altering substances to prevent people from becoming addicted and let’s remember that there is a program filled with people willing to help at any minute called the Alcoholic or Narcotics Anonymous.
